Amy Sweetin grew up in Denver, Colorado and has participated in and loved music her entire life. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Seattle Pacific University in 2012, completed internship in southern California and returned home to Colorado to begin her professional career.Amy helped create and establish the music therapy program at Denver Children’s Home, a residential and day treatment facility for adolescents, as well as helped launch multiple music therapy programs and local partnerships within the Denver metro area for Swallow Hill Music, a community music school and venue. Amy has clinical experience with young children through older adults and has worked in a variety of settings.She completed her Neurologic Music Therapy training in 2013 and has maintained her certification ever since. From 2020 through 2024 Amy was part of a Neurologic research team through the University of Colorado working with Parkinson’s Disease patients.Amy relocated to Kansas City at the end of 2024 and has recently joined KCMMT. She is very excited to become more involved in the music therapy community surrounding KC.
KCMMT is comprised of music therapists across the Kansas City area working to promote and advocate for high-quality, credentialed music therapy practice in our community.
